Changes from before and now.
These pest caused and spreaded disease throughout the trenches which eventually led to the idea of a pest cleansing area behind the front line. As these clinics at trench warfare were a success there is a more than likely link between this and the modern clinics that attempt to rid people of lice and the common pests. These were not the only problems that occurred as there were psychological impacts and physical impacts. On the front line every one you knew had a chance to be killed and as time went by this did happen, leading to psychological problems (shell shock) to occur. To add to the psychological problems there was the amputations of the soldiers limbs that effected there future life and there chance of survival. Even as these problems will eventually fade there will almost always be the geographical problems brought on by the empty trenches and the mortared hills. To this day there are still signs of the long gone trenches on the western front and the fighting that occurred there (delany, taylor, carrodus, howitt, smith, & young, 2012).
